About the job

As lead naval architect you are involved in the technical aspect and you also make drawings by yourself if necessary. Together with your naval architect colleagues, you ensure that projects are carried out in accordance with quality standards.

Specifically, you are responsible for:

• Technical and substantive management of Naval Architects who independently lead their own complete project;
• Coaching and guiding the team of Naval Architects on working methods, performance and standardization;
• Acting as a cooperating foreman and contributing your extensive experience and technical expertise in the field of Naval Architecture within the projects;
• Monitoring naval engineering integrity and consistency across all projects;
• Researching, transferring and implementing innovations in the market;
• Improving the quality level, including processes, tools, systems and design methodologies;
• Working closely with the Marine Engineers;
• Reporting directly to the Manager of Naval Architecture & Structural Engineering.

About you

For this position we are looking for someone with the following personal profile:

• Completed HBO or WO education in the direction of naval architecture;
• More than 7 years of work experience as a Naval Architect in a project-driven organization within the ship or yacht building industry;
• Demonstrably good coaching and communication skills;
• Extensive knowledge in the field of Naval Architecture, safety and regulations for yacht building;
• Vision of the field, able to transfer knowledge and innovation and realize it in new designs and concepts;
• Broad technical insight within your own discipline and in relation to other disciplines in the field of Engineering and the rest of the Feadship group;
• Innovative, organization conscious, structured and quality conscious;
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English language in word and writing.
• Experience with Nupas Cad Matic or Siemens NX and Rhino.
